Recorded in Aardvark Studios, Stubenville, Ohio, this is a short segment from day 3 of Sam Rocha's recording of his album 'Late To Love.' What you have here in these 6 mins is a sample of the process of the music making, where Sam and drummer Dre and bassist Ken, along with engineer Dan, work through a first take of a track that Sam has composed, generally, at first. He offers his general take of the piece to the rest of the musicians, and they accept the offer and together they work through it over and over until each of them feels good both about their individual contributions as well as the way the piece sounds as a whole.
February 13, 2014 was the 10th anniversary of the original experiment that produced 363 phenomenological mediations, published as 'Being and Learning' (Brill: 2012). Each day between Feb 2014-15, I returned to the original meditations, and my commentary is documented here. And then, again, on February 15, 2024, on the 20th anniversary of the first days of the original experiment, I revisit and comment on a daily basis, once again.
