February 13, 2014 was the 10th anniversary of the original experiment that produced 363 phenomenological mediations, published as 'Being and Learning' (Brill: 2012). Each day between Feb 2014-15, I returned to the original meditations, and my commentary is documented here. And then, again, on February 15, 2024, on the 20th anniversary of the first days of the original experiment, I revisit and comment on a daily basis, once again.

FDED 242 Jan 21, 2014 Tragedy of Difference Seminar
I'm posting this online 'experiment' in dialogic teaching and learning because it is very much an example of the gathering of the learning community that is one of the central themes of Being and Learning. I was in the 7th floor of the Glickman library, University of Southern Maine, and my students were on Long Island. Although I had already planned to conduct the scheduled seminar as an online experience, classes today (January 21, 2014) were cancelled when the university shut down at 2pm because of a blizzard that was moving through Nassau County. So it was a coincidence, to say the least. Although, as the saying goes, there are no coincidences. Everything is inevitable. Or, "Thre are no coincidences; all events are blessings given to us to learn from." Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross.
